Reward for the patient…Apricot ice cream with caramelised almonds

Ice cream!  Yum! Fabulously easy recipe for Apricot Ice cream and Caramelised Almonds is done, completed and eaten! Seriously, this is a very easy recipe for home made ice cream.  If apricots are not your thing, have a go and substitute whichever fruit you like.  It is fun, fresh and easy…what more can I say?…

Teaser for tomorrow…

Well, technically speaking tonight’s dish is Apricot ice-cream with caramelised almonds.  Sounds yum, doesn’t it?  Anyway, as you might know making ice-cream is a bit of a process and …okay, I’ll just be honest; I forgot to freeze the bowl of my ice-cream attachment on the Kitchenaid …which means I can’t whip my ice cream…

Lyonnais Cheese Dip

Well, this recipe in French is called cervelle de canut which literally translates to ‘Silk worker’s brain’.  Sounds appetising doesn’t it?  Find out why and how to make it here…  (it’s okay, there’s no real brains involved in this one, believe me!)

Hey, hey it’s the Nougat Cake from Tours (and a quick pastry tutorial)

Here it is – yummy Nougat Cake from Tours!  My version replaces the required confit fruits with fresh pear and raspberry (due to some availability issues), but still a great combination nonetheless! Have a go at making this one at home and whip up your own pastry as well.  C’mon, it’s easy!

Roast Lamb with Flageolets

Okay, here’s the roast lamb recipe for your eating pleasure.  I’m a bit under the weather today, so this post will be short and sweet.  Check out the recipe here and don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see how we go with the Nougat Cake that Gabriel Gaté featured on tonight’s episode of Taste…

Winter warmer…Brittany Fish Stew

Check out this recipe from the Taste le Tour – Brittany Fish Stew.  Simple, flavourful and packed full of good stuff, this is food that is good for the soul.  It is really easy to make as well, so no excuses.  Get into the kitchen and give this one a go… ..and then come back…

Get your snail on…

Yep, you heard right.  Tonight it was snails.  With herb and walnut butter, no less.  I have cooked.  I have conquered.  But alas, I chickened out at the tasting.  Perhaps if I hadn’t also been the one who had to prepare them, I might have been game to give them ago… Many thanks to James…

Duck…need I say more?

Okay, well I’ll say a bit more!  Todays challenge was Roast Duck with Prunes .  It was a really delicious recipe.  Sweet and sticky, tender and rich.  Just a great combination of flavours.  If you have not tried cooking with duck at home, give it a go. See you all tomorrow for Snails with Herb…
